In 2018, Resolve To… Go For a Walk

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2018!

Many people start the new year out with a long list of hopeful resolutions. Here at the Timebank, we have ‘Offers’ and ‘Requests’. We’ll continue through the end of the month highlighting possible ways to help your neighbor or neighborhood organization. For those that are not members, these are current needs and wants that you could be assisting with. Also, they are a good starting point for thinking about how you can use the West Seattle Timebank.

On Day 31… Go For A Walk

While we have many requests for walking buddies, this one has a twist! The request begins with: “I would love to find someone who would enjoy having a young walking companion for an afternoon walk from Fairmount Park Elementary down through Camp Long toward Delridge (this walk is a little over a mile one way, with a significant hill).” It’s for this Timebanker’s son! Her son loves friendly senior citizens, rockets and outer space, bugs, and well-behaved dogs. Consider this for a twist on a ‘walking buddy’ and check out other requests in our database.

This is the last of our resolution posts for 2018. If you have been following along and are intrigued by the Timebank, join us by filling out our secure online application here. We’ll get you setup and you can be on your way to earning hours and fulfilling requests. It’s free to join. Members, take a moment to browse the requests and offers – or post one for yourself. This is one way to keep the Timebank growing in 2018.
